Belgian Adventures

The unpredictable weather sucks. It rains even when the sun is shining and the damp and cold climate makes one miserable. The metros and trams in brussels remind me of one scene in band of Outsiders where anna karina was on a train and talking about existentialism.

It's a city of tourists no doubt with shopping centres and malls. Perhaps thats what i have chosen to see.

Moreover, i'm not quite in the mood for museum or too much art. Though I do like oosten since it has a beach with ok beachlines. Brugge is lovely and aptly termed venice of the south; or was it north? The roads are narrow in Brugge and the buildings look like cardboard cutouts from some shakespearean theatrical stage settings. Antwerp is modern looking and has a nice river running through its city. Brussels is rather drab by comparison and since I can't speak french, doesn't like to strike up a conversation either in pubs.
